I. Trạng từ thể cách ( adverds of manner)
- Tính từ bổ nghĩa cho danh từ
Ex: An interesting book
- Trạng từ : - bổ nghĩa cho động từ thường hoặc bổ nghĩa cho tính từ
Ex: She sings beautifully.
- Cách thành lập trạng từ :
+ Hầu hết các trạng từ chỉ thể cách được thành lập bằng cách thêm đuôi LY vào tính từ:(tính từ tận cùng là “y” đổi thành “i” rồi thêm “ly”
Adjective + ly adverb Ex: slow + ly- slowly
Tính từ có “y” đổi y thành “i” sau đó mới thêm ly Ex: noisy ® noisily
+ Chú ý : Một số trạng từ đặc biệt như good => well và một số từ không đổi ở cả hình thức tính từ và trạng từ như fast, fair, early, late, fast, hard
II. Adjective + that clause
S +be +Adj +that + Clause
Ex : I am happy that you had a new car.
Note: Mệnh đề “ that clause” được dùng với một số tính từ như :
“Afraid,glad,sorry, sure,eager,anxious,happy,pleased,annoyed, proud, delighted, disappointed,…”

A. LÝ THUYẾT 
I. Trạng từ thể cách ( adverds of manner)

III. Adverb clauses of reason: ( as / because / since ) 
* Because, as, since (bởi vì ) dùng để chỉ lý do 
Ex: She didn’t go to the zoo because /as/since she was ill. 
Because, as, since + clause 
Because of + noun phrase 
IV. Conditional sentences: Type 1 
 If clause Main clause 
 (Mệnh đề phụ) (Mệnh đề chính) 
 The simple present The simple future tense 
(She / He / It) + V (-s/-es) will / shall + V-inf 
 (We / You / They ) + V can / may / must  + V-inf 
Ex: If the rice paddies are polluted, the rice plants will die. 
OR The rice plants will die if the rice paddies are polluted. 
B. BÀI TẬP 
I. Adjective and adverb? Circle the correct word in each pair: 
1. Edward felt (sleepy / sleepily) after the big meal. 
2. The theater got (quiet / quietly) when the movie began. 
3. Leroy smiled (cheerful / cheerfully) when the teacher give him his grade. 5. We spent the whole day in the garden because of lovely weather. 
6. He can’t go to school today because of his toothache. 
7. I can’t play basketball because of my height. 
8. She must stay in bed because of her illness. 
9. We can’t swim in the past of the river because of highly polluted water. 
10. They couldn’t keep on clearing the beach because of heavy rain. 
IV. Rewrite the sentences by using “BECAUSE OF”: 
1. She can’t work hard because she is very old. 
2. He likes her because she is very beautiful. 
3. He couldn’t go to school because he is very poor. 
4. I can’t buy this bike because I can’t have enough money. 
5. He broke this vase because he was careless. 
6. He failed this exam because he didn’t learn this lesson carefully. 
7. We can’t go for a walk because it rains heavily. 
8. He left school because his life was hard. 
9. She was very happy because she was given a new bike. 
10. I went to bed early because I felt tired. 
V. Combine the two sentences into one using “BECAUSE / SINCE / AS”: 
1. It was a nice day. We went for a walk by the sea. ( SINCE ) 
2. I went to bed early. I was tired. (BECAUSE) 
3. We didn’t want to wake anybody up. We came in very quietly. (SINCE) 
4. We didn’t know what time it was. None of us had a watch. (BECAUSE) 
5. We hadn’t seen Lisa for a long time. We didn’t recognize her. (AS) 
 2. A : Can you tell Sally I won’t be here tomorrow? 
 B : O.K. I(tell) her if I(see) her. 
3. A : I think I’ll go out this evening. 
 B : Well. If you .(take) the car, you .(need) to put some petrol in it. 
4.A : This letter’s important. It must get there by tomorrow. 
 B : O.K. If you(leave) it there, I(post) it for you. 
5. A: What will you do on weekends? 
 B : Well, If the weather.............(be) fine, we (go)for a picnic. 
6. A : I’ m having a birthday party on Friday. 
 B : If you.(need) any help, just(ask) me. 
7. A : I’ve lost my watch. Have you seen it anywhere?
