A. GRAMMAR
I. Structures:
1. Comparative of adjectives (so sánh của tính từ).
a. Comparative: (so sánh hơn)
 • Short adjs: Adj.- er + than
 • Long adjs: More + adj. + than
b. Superlatives: (so sánh nhất )
 • Short adjs: The + adj + est 
 • Long adjs: The most + adj
2. Exclamatory sentence (câu cảm thán)
+ What + a/ an + adj + sing. Noun !
Ex: This room is very dirty à What a dirty room !
+ What + adj + plural N ! ( danh từ số nhiều )
Ex: The pictures are very beautiful à What beautiful pictures !
+ What + adj + uncount N ! (danh từ không đếm được)
Ex: The milk is sour àWhat sour milk !
- Bỏ "very , too, so, fairly, extremtly, quite" nếu có.
3. Hỏi và trả lời về khoảng cách:
Q: How far is it from...... to...?
A: It's ( about ) + khoảng cách.
4. Hỏi và trả lời về phương tiện:
How + do/ does + S + V (bare – inf)...?.
S + V +... + by + phương tiện/ (on foot)
5. Hỏi và trả lời về nơi chốn:
Where + do/ does + S + V (bare – inf)...?.
S + V +...+ nơi chốn.
6. Hỏi và trả lời về lý do:
Why + do/ does + S + V (bare – inf)...?.
S + V +... because + S + V + lý do.
7. Hỏi và trả lời về tính thường xuyên:
How often + do/ does + S + V – inf...?
S + adv. + V.........
 • Trong câu thường có: Once, twice, three times a week,..., every ,...
8. Hỏi và trả lời về thời gian:
* Hỏi giờ: What time is it ? = What 's the time ?.
 • Giờ đúng: It's + giờ + o'lock.
 • Giờ hơn: It's + giờ + phút/ It's + phút + past +giờ.
 • Giờ kém: It's + giờ + phút/ It's + phút + to + giờ
* Hỏi giờ của các hành động What time + do/ does + S + V – inf...?
S + V(s/es) + at + giờ.
9. Hỏi và trả lời về số lượng: a. To be: am/ is/ are:
(+) S+am/is/are 
 Ex: She (be) is a student.
(-) S + am/ is/ are + not
(?) Am/ Is/ Are + S + 
 b. Ordinary Verbs
(+) S+Vs/es.
 Ex: He (go) goes  to school every day
(-) S +do/ does + not + verb– inf.
 Ex: I do not go to school./ He does not go to school.
(?) Do/ Does + S + Verb (bare – inf ) ?.
 Ex: Do you go to school?/ Does he go to school?
 Trong câu thường có các trạng từ: always , usually , often , sometimes , never , every
2. The present progressive tense (Thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn)
(+) S + am/ is/ are + V – ing 
(-) S + am/ is/ are + not + V – ing 
(?) Am/ Is/ Are + S + V – ing ?.
 Thường có các trạng từ ở cuối câu: Now, at present, at the moment, right now, at this 
time và Look!, Listen!, Be careful!, Be quite!, ..ở đầu câu.
3. The simple future tense (Thì tương lai đơn) 
(+) S + will/ shall + V (bare – inf) 
(-) S + won’t/ shan’t + V (bare – inf) 
(?) Will/ Shall + S + V (bare – inf)?.
 Yes, S + will/ shall. No, S + won’t/ shan’t.
 Thường có các trạng từ: soon, tomorrow, tonight, next week / month / year  one day
4. The past simple tense: Thì quá khứ đơn 
* Form: 
a. Động từ có quy tắc: S + V(ed) 
b. Động từ bất quy tắc: S + V (cột II) 
* Use. 
Thì quá khứ đơn diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra và kết thúc tại một điểm thời gian hoặc 
khoảng thời gian xác định trong quá khứ. 
Ví dụ: He arrived here yesterday. 
My father worked in Ha Noi from 1995 to 1998 
* Note:
 - Động từ chia ở thì quá khứ đơn có 2 dạng: Nếu là động từ có quy tắc ta thêm “ed” vào 
động từ nguyên mẫu. Nếu là động từ bất quy tắc phải xem và học thuộc ở cột thứ 2 của 
bảng động từ bất quy tắc. 
- Thì quá khứ đơn thương được dùng với các cụm từ chỉ thời gian xác định ở quá khứ 
như: last week/ month/ year, a week/ two days/ five months/ three years ago, 
yesterday, yesterday morning/ evening, in + năm, from 1945 to 1950, for + two days/ 
months 
Ví dụ: I was born in 1990 7. Who will invite to her party ? g. Tam and Lan are
 8. What will they do? h. It will finish at nine
 9. How will you go to the party? i. After seven o’clock
 10. Can I speak to Lan, please? j. By bike
III. Supply the correct form of the verbs in the brackets
1. Hoa (have).. a lot of friends in Hue
2. Nam and Trang always (visit) their grandparents on Sundays.
3. My father (listen) . to the radio every morning.
4. The children (like) with her parents
5. She (not live). with her parents.
6. Nga (talk) .. to her friends now
7. They (come)  here tomorrow morning
8. We (visit). Huong Pagoda next month
9. She (be)  14 on her next birthday.
10. My brother (go). swimming every day.
11. Let’s (meet). in front of the museum.
12. We often (play) .. tennis in the afternoon.
13. Lan (invite) . all her friends to her birthday party.
14. Our friend (come)  here soon.
IV. Complete the sentences, use the past form of the verbs in the box..

V. Choose the best answer in the brackets to complete the sentences..
